Pu er raw Sheng compressed cake Fengqing Chi Tse Beeng "vintage" 1996

It is one of those legendary cakes coming out of the famous Fengqing Cha Chang factory, or Fengqing Tea Factory, one of the oldest in Yunnan, and having been stored dry in its region of origin. Fengqing located north of Lincang benefits from relatively dry climatic conditions comparable to our western latitudes. The raw or Sheng side is fully expressed in this type of storage developing a great aromatic complexity supported by tannins that have softened over the years, letting fresh camphor notes express themselves and a long aftertaste evolving into woody and honeyed notes.
