The new 2023 harvest is available!
This spring sencha, or shincha, comes from the Saemidori cultivar like Gyokuro Saemidori, and it comes from same producer, Mr. Nishi located in Kirishima on the island of Kyûshû. In the cup it develops fresh, smooth, vegetal and marine notes with an almost milky background typical of this cultivar. Coming from a short steaming - futsumushi -, it is a beautiful entry into the world of sencha, interesting to compare with Sencha Yabukita de Concours to understand the impact of the cultivar on the taste of the tea.

Mon thé vert japonais préféré cette année. J’aime l’équilibre subtil de ce thé entre végétal et marin et le côté lacté de ce cultivar.
